Mark text search guide

Trade marks are not always straightforward to search, but you may find these search methods useful to get the most from your search.

Results will be shown in alphabetical order.

Numbers

You should only use Exact, Starts with or Contains string searches to search for numbers in a trade mark. You can search for numbers using numerals or words.

If you are searching to compare trade marks, use Contains string search and use both numerals and words.

Read across each row to find an example number, the first search term that should be entered into the search box, the search operator that should be used and the second search term that should be entered.

Special characters

You can search for special characters, including punctuation marks  and some currency symbols

Linking search terms

You can search more than 1 term in a single search.
