Mortgaging

You can use your registered design as security for a loan. The mortgagor has a legal right in your design until you repay the loan.

You or the mortgagor should register the mortgage with us and we will then record it in the register of designs.

Fill in Form DF12A

To register a mortgage you need to fill in form DF12A. There is no charge for this.

You can also use this form to tell us that the mortgage has been repaid, so that we can cancel the details from the register.
