Can librarians copy copyright material in the library for me?
The copying that falls within the scope of the exception allowing "fair dealing" for the purposes of non-commercial research and private study, can usually be carried out by librarians.
The library exceptions require the researcher etc to sign a form confirming that the purpose of the request is to obtain material for non-commercial research or private study, and only single copies of the material will be supplied. Requests made to librarians for copies of the same material from more than one researcher (such as all the students in a university class) will be refused.
Libraries should be able to give you more information about what they may copy and the conditions that apply.
