TM6 - Notification request for conflicting later filed mark - Renewal
Further to the general notice that was published on the 11 August 2010 it is now possible to extend the period for receiving notifications of conflicting later filed marks.
It is possible to renew the opt-in at any time by filing a new form TM6 via the IPO website - you do not have to wait for the 3 year period to expire. If you wish to renew a mark, you should complete the TM6 and indicate which trade mark number(s) you would like to opt-in. You will be charged £50 for each mark.
Important notice
Following a change to the law, IPO's optional notification service for owners of Community and International (EU) trade mark registrations will be discontinued with effect from 1 October 2012. From that date, the form TM6 will no longer be available on the IPO website, and notifications will no longer be sent out to those trade mark owners who have previously opted into the service. Details of the public consultation and IPO's response are available.
Please note that the automatic notification service for owners of UK and International (UK) registered trade marks is unaffected by this change, and will continue to be provided.
