Patent Informatics
Using patent data to mine, reveal, and inform, for government and for industry
What is Informatics?
Patent documents and other forms of registered Intellectual Property form a wealth of information about new technologies and the people and businesses developing them. Informatics involves mining this information to reveal patterns and trends, which can be used to provide insight and evidence for policymakers and decision makers, both in government and in industry.
Why do I need Informatics?
If you are interested in an overview of existing technology or recent developments in any field of technology, or you are interested in your competitors’ activity, or in targeting research funding correctly, then Informatics could provide you with valuable answers.
What do we do?
We carry out bespoke investigations, both large and small, about inventors, companies, and all fields of technology. Our work is varied and innovative, and we develop new approaches to address the requirements of investigations wherever necessary. We are independent and unbiased, and we will carry out any work in confidence if required.
About the team
The Patent Informatics Team analysts have experience and expert knowledge in patent searching and patent law.
We are able to consult with over 200 patent examiners specialised in all areas of technology.
