  • The search is on for UK's youngest innovators
    The Intellectual Property Office (IPO) has launched this year’s Cracking Ideas competition and is inviting children across the country to use their creativity to invent a special space-themed gizmo or gadget. 12 regional finalists in different age-groups will be named Britain's youngest innovators, from which three national winners will be crowned Cracking Ideas champions for 2013.

  • UK and US worksharing efforts effective, concludes report
    Today, a joint report published by the UK Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO) and the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) reports that both offices have been making efficient use of each other’s work, which has led to an improvement in the quality of patents being granted. The report also states that patent attorneys could speed up the patenting process by amending patent applications at both offices when an exam report is issued by either one.
